[[nl]]Leap/detach is een trio dat ontstond in het kader van een tweejarig onderzoek aan het Conservatorium van Antwerpen. Het ensemble bestaat uit: Vitja Pauwels – akoestische, elektrische en pedal steel gitaar + live processing / Hendrik Lasure – piano + live processing / Casper Van De Velde – drums en objecten + live processing. Leap/detach breidt hun akoestische pallet uit met ad hoc gemanipuleerde klanken, wat aanleiding geeft tot uiterst verschillende facetten van de muziek. Verwacht je aan elastische muziek die hoofdzakelijk geïmproviseerd is vanuit een minimalistische insteek, waarin live sampling een vast gegeven is.
[[en]]Leap/detach is a trio that originated in the context of a two-year research at the Conservatoire of Antwerp. The ensemble consists of: Vitja Pauwels – acoustic, electric and pedal steel guitar + live processing / Hendrik Lasure – piano + live processing / Casper Van De Velde – drums and objects + live processing. Leap/detach extends their acoustic sound palette with ad hoc manipulated sounds, giving rise to very different facets of the music. Expect elastic music that is mainly improvised from a minimalistic approach, in which live sampling plays an important role.
