[[nl]]Met rijk gelaagde synth- en gitaarpartijen en prominente drums creëren Sun Gods hun eigen unieke soundscape: weelderige, eigentijdse indierock in de geest van The War on Drugs en The National met pop-echo's uit de jaren 80 die doen denken aan Peter Gabriel, Simple Minds en Daniel Lanois.Sun Gods wordt gekenmerkt door de opvallende, warme en overtuigende stem van zanger Brent Buckler, die live echt tot zijn recht komt en doet denken aan Richard Thompson, Tom Smith van Editors of Liam Ó Maonlaí van Hothouse Flowers.

[[en]]With their richly layered synth and guitar parts and prominent drums Sun Gods create their own unique soundscape: sumptuous, contemporary indie rock in the vein of The War on Drugs and The National with 80s pop echoes reminiscent of Peter Gabriel, Simple Minds and Daniel Lanois. Sun Gods are characterised by the striking, warm and entreating voice of singer Brent Buckler, which really comes into its own on the live stage and brings to mind Richard Thompson, Editors’ Tom Smith or Liam Ó Maonlaí of Hothouse Flowers.

[[nl]]De jonge band speelde al memorabele sets op Linkerwoofer (op dezelfde affiche als Millionaire, Warhaus, Faces op tv ...) en stond op verschillende Nederlandse podia met Effenaar (Eindhoven), Gigant (Apeldoorn) en het festival 'Ik Zie U Graag' in Breda.

[[en]]The fledgling band has played memorable sets at Linkerwoofer (on the same bill as Millionaire, Warhaus, Faces on TV...) and played several Dutch venues with Effenaar (Eindhoven), Gigant (Apeldoorn) and the 'Ik Zie U Graag' festival in Breda.

[[nl]]Hun eerste single 'Voices' bleef niet onopgemerkt: de video werd vertoond op verschillende grote festivals zoals het New York City Short Anime & Animation Film Festival, de LA. Music Video Awards (winnaar 'Best Male Vocalist'), European Independent Film Festival (Parijs) en Berlin Short Film Festival. Sophomore single 'Subtle Science' maakte ook een enorme indruk en werd inmiddels opgenomen in de afspeellijst van Radio 1. In 2018 bracht Sun Gods in eigen beheer de live-EP 'Trefpunt Sessions' uit.Ze werken momenteel aan hun debuut album dat in 2020 zal verschijnen.

[[en]]Their maiden single 'Voices' certainly didn’t go unnoticed: the video was screened at several major festivals such as the New York City Short Anime & Animation Film Festival, the LA. Music Video Awards (winner 'Best Male Vocalist’), European Independent Film Festival (Paris) and Berlin Short Film Festival. Sophomore single 'Subtle Science' also made a huge impression and has meanwhile been added to the playlist of Radio 1.In 2018 Sun Gods self-released the live EP 'Trefpunt Sessions'.They are currently working on their debut long-player, which is slated for release in 2020.
